Mike is a member of California Association of Realtors, Commercial Real Estate Referral Network, Noe Valley Merchants’ Association and ADA Committee, and has held membership with ICREA Member World Properties Association (2007- 2010) and the CAR Los Angeles Public Policy Committee (2007-2008).
Philanthropic and charitable involvement is a an important part of Mike’s life work, as he contributes time, talents and financial resources to such organizations as Heal the Bay, Veteran’s Administration Epilepsy Support Group, and GetaVision, including serving 7 years as a Big Brother to kids in need.
A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Mike was awarded the Naval Achievement Medal for exemplary military service from the Pacific Fleet Commander.

Mike Onufer brings his passion for San Francisco Restaurant and Retail entrepreneurship to his work as a Real Estate Broker with Vandermade, a leading Bay Area Commercial Real Estate and Brokerage firm. For more than 12 years, Mike has been servicing Real Estate and related industries, specializing in Commercial Leasing and Restaurant Sales. Mike’s knowledge of San Francisco and his links to the local community are instrumental in bringing success to his Clients’ unique requirements.
In his first three years servicing San Francisco, Mike represented over 15 Restaurants and Cafes, and more than 25,000sf Landlord/Tenant transactions. Creative thinking paired with a wide range of business experience has been vital for win-win success in negotiating Commercial Leases for Landlords and Tenants. Being accessible and proactive enables Mike develop strong Client relationships and meet unique challenges, which can benefit Clients in their longer term business development and expansion.
Building strong relationships and weaving together professional resources throughout San Francisco, Mike brings invaluable skills refined in a successful career in Information Technology and the Construction Industry to the art of Commercial Real Estate, specializing in Retail Leasing, along with Restaurant Sales.
Mike’s Information Technology career included 15 years with the Los Angeles-based publishing company Radio and Records, followed by co-founding e-commerce company Shoom.com. His clientele spanned a wide range of industries, including companies such as Sea Shepard, Cochlear Corporation (Australia), LA Short Film Festival, Ford Graphics, Arthur Murray Dance Studios, and Business Strategies.
Prior to joining Vandermade, Mike worked with San Francisco-based Rockwell Properties. Having started in the Real Estate industry founding JEM Property Management, Mike joined Los Angeles-based One World Real Estate & Finance. Mike's expertise encompasses negotiating all essential elements within lease and purchase agreements.

Bringing creative strategies and solutions to the unique challenges of the Retail and Restaurant business in San Francisco, Mike leverages his knowledge of licensing, use permits, zoning, city planning, and neighborhood issues.
With his experience with ADA compliancy, Mike brings additional understanding in meeting unique ADA requirements. His extensive professional network in related industries throughout the city brings together experts in the fields of construction, architecture, design and other professions to enable clients to secure optimal negotiated agreements.
Mike completed undergraduate work at Grossmont College and UCLA and has a B.S. in Information Sciences / Business from Coleman University, and is a licensed California Real Estate Broker, along with being a Certified Carpenter.
